  • U.S. educators teach students what they know instead of what students need to know.

The U.S. Education Myth

“Reform” is Not the Answer

  • We must begin with the concept of change; the “Educational Reform” buzzword is not what we need.
  • U.S. teachers using the same pedagogues and methodologies are getting different results; even the with the same teacher in the same school within different classes.
  • Systemic change for U.S. educators requires focused support, intervention, and out-of-the-box thinking; this is not happening.
  • The U.S. educational and instructional handcuffs must come off.

Disrupting the Status Quo

Taking Off the Institutional Handcuffs

  • U.S. Education’s current rigid, predetermined, regulatory methodologies must be eliminated and/or modified to meet the needs of 21st Century learners.
  • We must secure a working stakeholder framework that will draw district, community, teacher and student buy-in.
  • With administrative flexibility and support, teachers can go above and beyond the state and national standards.
  • The standards are not the problem; the problem stems from the educators who do not understand their true purpose.
